During the summer months, Spring Lake Resort guests who love hiking or nature walks will love The Kalamazoo Nature Center which offers a variety of hiking trails ranked from easy to difficult, as well as several nature exhibits. Located just a mile south of the park, Another great trail is the Kal-Haven Trail, which spans 34 miles along a (now non-existent) railroad between South Haven and Kalamazoo, it offers walking, hiking and biking in the summer, and great snowmobiling in the winter, as well as landmarks and of course, the scenery. If entertainment and culture are your preference, Kalamazoo offers many festivals downtown celebrating Music, food, cultures, even zombies, needless to say, kalamazoo seems to always be celebrating. Other activities in and around Kalamazoo the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts, Kalamazoo Speedway, West Michigan Glass Art Center and three local wineries, including St.Julian, which offers wine tastings. Just a short drive away are the warm sandy beaches and amazing sunsets of Lake Michigan.
